This study aims to analyze the impact of the entry of Indonesian migrant workers (TKI) on Japan’s economic performance. Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2025, approximately 1,600 Indonesian workers entered Japan during the January–June period, bringing the total number of Indonesian workers in Japan from 2023 to 2025 to around 151,600 individuals. This figure reflects a significant contribution to Japan’s labor force amid declining population growth and shortages in productive-age workers. The findings indicate that Indonesian workers support Japan’s economic stability by enhancing productivity and meeting labor demands in key industrial sectors. At the same time, the workers gain valuable professional experience, broader knowledge, and expanded networks through their employment in Japan. Thus, the mobility of Indonesian migrant workers plays an important role in sustaining Japan’s economic dynamics, particularly in sectors requiring additional labor resources.
