Abstract
This study analyzes the representation of social values in the anime Naruto, one of the most influential works within global popular culture. Using a qualitative content analysis of scenes, dialogues, main characters, and key narrative elements, this research identifies four dominant social values: hard work (doryoku), friendship (yuujou), responsibility and sacrifice, and justice. The findings show that these values are represented through character conflicts, the psychological development of the protagonist, and the dynamics of interpersonal relationships. Naruto functions not only as a form of entertainment but also as a medium of moral education that reflects the social values of Japanese society as well as universal principles of human interaction. This study contributes to the discourse on popular culture and character education by emphasizing the potential of anime as a medium for cultivating social values.
